Steven Gerrard started playing his soccer at his localĀ junior club Whiston Juniors. At the age of 9 Liverpool scouts signed him up for the Reds Youth Academy and the rest as you say it, is history. Gerrard signed his first professional contract with Liverpool on the 5th November 1997.
